Overview
Operate data is the business information your website uses behind the scenes: dishes and prices, forms, connected channels, guest messages, and reservations.
You manage it under Layers → Operate. Guests only see Operate changes on the live site after you Publish.
How Operate relates to Site content
Site content is what you place on pages: sections, layout, photos, and wording in Fields. Operate holds shared catalogs (especially the Menu book).
Many blocks can be bound to Operate data, or left unbound (custom):
| Bound | Unbound (custom) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it means | The block reads from Operate (for example the Menu book) | The block keeps its own text/values only in Fields |
| In Studio | You often see Bound to …, or a redirect such as Edit menu book | You edit the values directly on that block |
| When to use | One source of truth — change a dish once, every bound place updates | One-off copy that should not follow the Menu book |
Get started
- Switch to Edit.
- In Layers, open Operate.
- Choose Menu book, Floor plan, Forms, Integrations, Inbox, or Reservations.
- Edit and save when Studio asks you to.
- Check bound blocks on the Preview, then Publish when the live site should update.
